The best hotel in Trang depends on the trip you are actually taking: Rua Rasada is the strongest full-service all-rounder, Parima is the better modern pool-focused stay, GinGin works for a smaller character-led city break, Thumrin Hotel is the rail-first choice, and The Bliss Boutique Hotel is the practical value option.
This shortlist is focused on Trang city rather than Trang’s islands or beach resorts. If the Andaman coast is the main reason for the trip, use the city as a gateway and spend most beach nights closer to the coast. Start with Where to Stay in Trang if the area decision is still open.

1. Rua Rasada Hotel — best full-service all-rounder
Rua Rasada is the most complete city-hotel choice in this shortlist. The official hotel site describes an outdoor saltwater pool, fitness center, sauna, restaurants and spa facilities, while the property also positions itself as a major MICE hotel in Trang. Its official location information states that the bus terminal, railway station and Trang Airport are all within roughly 5–15 minutes by road.
Best for: first-time visitors, families, business-leisure trips and anyone who expects to spend part of the day at the hotel. Trade-off: if the stay is only one night between trains, paying for full facilities may not add much value.

2. Parima Hotel — best modern pool-focused stay
Parima is stronger for travelers who want a newer-feeling property with a more design-led room experience. The official site lists pool-view and pool-access room categories, family rooms, 24-hour reception, parking, room service and airport transfer. It also states that the hotel is approximately 15 minutes from Trang Airport and about five minutes from the clock tower by car.
Best for: couples, families, travelers with an early or late flight, and guests who value the room and pool more than railway walkability. Trade-off: central evening plans may still require short rides rather than pure walking.

3. GinGin Hotel, Trang Old Town — best character-led central stay
GinGin is the most distinctive small-hotel option here. Current property information lists a central Trang address, family rooms, balconies, restaurant, bar and breakfast service. The appeal is less about a large pool or resort grounds and more about having a smaller property in the old-town city orbit with easy access to central Trang.
Best for: couples, weekend trips, food-focused stays and travelers who prefer a smaller hotel to a conventional full-service property. Trade-off: if a large pool, fitness facilities or spa time are central to the trip, Rua Rasada or Parima is the better fit.

4. Thumrin Hotel — best for railway-station convenience
Thumrin Hotel is the clearest rail-first choice. The hotel’s official site says it is located near Trang Railway Station and highlights easy access to the heart of the city. Guests are also allowed to use selected facilities at sister property Thumrin Thana Hotel, including the outdoor pool and fitness center, which makes the hotel more flexible than a basic station room.
Best for: one-night rail stops, early trains and travelers arriving with luggage. Trade-off: choose a larger property if you want most facilities in the same building rather than at a sister hotel.

5. The Bliss Boutique Hotel — best practical value stay
The Bliss Boutique Hotel is a smaller Mueang Trang option with private parking, 24-hour reception, balconies, refrigerators and work desks according to current property information. It works best as a practical city base rather than a destination hotel.
Best for: budget-conscious travelers, drivers and guests who need a simple room before or after a transport day. Trade-off: it is not the strongest choice if walkable old-town evenings or resort facilities are the main goal.

Which Trang hotel is best for a first visit?
Rua Rasada is the easiest all-round choice because it combines facilities with manageable access to the main transport points. Parima is better when modern design and pool use matter. GinGin suits travelers who want a smaller central stay. Thumrin is the practical answer when the railway station is the fixed part of the itinerary.
Which hotel is best for couples?
GinGin and Parima are the strongest starting points for couples because they offer two different styles: smaller central character versus modern pool-oriented comfort. Rua Rasada makes more sense when spa, pool and full-service facilities matter more than intimacy.
Which hotel is best for families?
Parima offers family-oriented room formats, while Rua Rasada gives families a larger pool-and-facilities environment. Compare the exact sleeping layout, breakfast rules and room occupancy for the children’s ages before paying.
Which hotel is best for train travel?
Thumrin Hotel is the strongest rail-first option because the official hotel site specifically emphasizes its location near Trang Railway Station. Travelers who want alternatives within the station zone should also read Hotels Near Trang Railway Station.
Which hotel is best for an early flight?
Parima is the clearest airport-oriented pick because it publishes an approximate 15-minute airport transfer and offers transfer service. Rua Rasada also publishes convenient airport access. Compare the dedicated Hotels Near Trang Airport guide if the flight schedule is the main booking constraint.
How to compare final value
Compare the room price together with breakfast, airport or station transfer, parking and the facilities you will actually use. On a one-night stay, location often matters more than the pool. On a three-night stay, breakfast, room size, pool access and evening convenience become more important.
Booking strategy
For a short gateway stay, build the booking around the fixed transport event: train, flight or island pickup. For a longer Trang city stay, choose the hotel that reduces repeated daily rides. The cheapest room can become poor value if every dinner, market visit or departure requires another paid transfer.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best overall hotel in Trang?
Rua Rasada is the strongest all-round full-service hotel in this shortlist, but the best choice changes when train access, design or price matters more.
Is Trang better for hotels or resorts?
Trang city is better understood as a hotel base. The province’s stronger beach-resort experience is closer to the coast and islands.
How many nights should I stay in Trang city?
One or two nights works for many gateway trips. Stay longer when local food, city time or inland attractions are part of the itinerary.
Should I stay near Trang Railway Station?
Yes for an early train, late rail arrival or one-night stop. For a longer stay, compare the whole itinerary before prioritizing the station.
